I love the way I can add as many extensions as I like to FireFox, but I recently added one I’d like to remove. How do I do this?

One of the great things about FireFox is the ability to extend the basic browser functionality by adding extensions (or plug-ins) to do other things. Firefox provides a framework for third-party developers to build their own extensions, and this has spawned literally hundreds of different extensions to do anything you can imagine. Adding these extensions to FireFox is a matter of a couple of clicks, but once they are in, how can they be removed?

Removing extensions from FireFox is relatively straightforward, once you know where to do it from. Here’s what you need to do:

• Open the Tools menu
• Choose the Add-ons option
• You’ll be presented with the list of extensions and themes FireFox is currently running

• Click on the extension you would like to remove
• Click on the Uninstall button

You’re done! The extension will no longer be available to you.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the more extensions you are running, the slower and more memory hungry FireFox will become, so it’s worth cleaning out the extensions you don’t need any more; just to keep your browsing experience more streamlined.
