You’ve mentioned a broadband comparison site some time ago but it only compared providers in the UK. Do you know of one the compares providers in the USA instead?
I got this question as a comment on one of my previous posts where I was recommending a website for someone who was looking for an Internet provider. As you can imagine though, these services vary from one country to another, so I’m going to extend the answer to cover providers in the U.S.
As with the UK, you can get websites that will help you compare offerings from different providers. These are usually more credible than the providers’ websites as they give you a comparative view across the services. One such website is Get ISP, a website that compares different providers offering different ways of connecting to the Internet, from nationwide dialup ISP service all the way to Satellite Internet Providers.
Their broadband provider page outlines companies like Verizon, AT&T, Qwest and others. Being in the UK I can’t really recommend anything further as I’ve never used any of their services, but you’ll find the review on the website useful.
There’s another page on the website you should look at which give you advice on *how* to select your broadband provider, here. It’s worth reading so you know what you’re looking for.
