Hi there. I’m looking for an MP3 player for my 2 hour commute into work. Can you recommend anything?
Unfortunately your question is not really specific enough, so I’m not sure what you’re asking, but presumably you’re looking for something different to wearing headphones while you drive. A number of cars also come with MP3 players built right into them too, and you can normally also get kits you can plug into a normal player to broadcast your sound over the car’s audio system.
The last option is usually my preferred one, as it feels safer than wearing headphones while you drive and you can control the sound volume with your car’s normal controls. If you’re looking to buy a new MP3 player that can do this, one option is to get yourself a Microsoft Zune 4Gb MP3 player with free Car Pack which is currently on sale from Buy.com for around $80. (It’s currently on sale today, but the price may actually be different depending on when you click the link). Here’s what it looks like:
The Zune is Microsoft‘s offering in the MP3 player market and includes an FM tuner, the ability to play videos and share songs wirelessly. It seems to be a pretty comprehensive package and the 4Gb storage will give you space to store up to 1000 songs. The automotive component of this package lets you broadcast your music using FM to your car radio while at the same time charging up your Zune. This means you can enjoy your music in the car just by hooking it up.
That sounds exactly like what you need. Let me know how it works for you.
