How do add a Run command to my Start menu?

I used to use Windows XP, and one item on the Start menu which I used extensively was the Run command. I’ve since upgraded to Windows 7 and alas, this does not appear on my Start menu. Is there any way I can add it in?

The Start menu is extremely configurable and, I’m sure you’ll be glad to hear, the Run command can be added in quite easily. Here’s what you do:

  1. Right-click on the Start menu and choose Properties
  2. In the Start Menu tab, there’s a button captioned “Customise”. Click on this.
  3. You’ll see a number of options which can scroll through. Find Run and tick the checkbox.
  4. Click OK and OK on the previous dialog box.

You’ll see that there are a number of options you can play with in that Customise dialog box. Whether it’s to display your Games in your menu, or to show your favourites (including the one to that hgh site you wanted to bookmark), or to show your Videos or Recorded TV programs. Feel free to play around and see how the menu changes.
